Marbled
Don't you just love it when projects are simple, cost effective, useful and yet so beautiful? You can grab the idea from http://meaningfulmama.com/2014/08/diy-marbled-paper-shaving-cream.html. We did this craft in 2012, way before I had any thought of doing a blog. Therefore, you don't see any process, just the result. The kids made two sets of journals. One they took home, and the other we used to make a "bulletin board" as you see below. Sorry. These are the only two photos I have of this project.
Supplies:
1. shaving cream
2. food coloring
3. aluminum pan (for easy clean-up and reuse)
4. heavy white construction paper
5. plastic knives
Directions:
1. squirt shaving cream in aluminum pan until bottom is covered
2. drop food coloring onto shaving cream
3. use knife to swirl designs through shaving cream
4. place white paper atop shaving cream
5. press paper down into the design
6. lift paper from tray
7. using knife, scrape excess shaving cream from paper
Duration:
This project was only a day
Note:
Our class made journals. Place several sheets of paper smaller inside the marbled cover, staple them together and cover the staples with colored masking tape.
